 A. Instructions for calculation of UG % of Marks:

   1. Candidates of 60% category:

             (a) In case of annual system, percentage (%) of marks will be calculated on the basis of UG (Hons) marks obtained (Part-I, Part-II & Part-III taking together).

            (b) In case of semester (CBCS) system, UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted from CGPA based on the all semesters ( Sem-I to Sem-VI). 

    2. Candidates of 40% category:

           (a) In case of annual system, percentage (%) of marks will be calculated on the basis of UG (Hons) marks obtained (Part-I & Part-II taking together).

           (b) In case of semester (CBCS) system, UG (Hons) equivalent percentage of marks converted from CGPA as per the rule fixed by their home institution, based on the first five semesters (Sem-I to Sem-V). 

Example of percentage (%) of marks calculation for Semester system (CBCS):

           (a) For the Vidyasagar University semester system (CBCS) the calculation of equivalent percentage of marks upto 5th and 6th semester is as follows: 

                    (i) Percentage calculation upto 5th semester [for point no-3.7 of online application]:

Let, CGPA from the above calculation = 5.1

The equivalent percentage of marks for V.U. students (as per conversion rule of V.U) = 5.1 ×10 = 51 


                    (ii) Percentage calculation upto 6th semester [for point no-3.8 of online application]:


CGPA to Percentage Calculation

Let, CGPA from the above calculation = 5.7

 The equivalent percentage of marks for V.U. students (as per conversion rule of V.U) = 5.7×10 = 57

        (b) For other institutions with semester system (CBCS) having different conversion rules: The equivalent percentage of marks upto 5th and 6th semester will be calculated similarly as per their semester wise credit points, SGPA, CGPA and percentage conversion rule fixed by their home University/Institution/College (autonomous).
